Puppets
Cory the Clown explores the world of puppets, from marionettes to
shadow puppets.
Puppets are fun! From Egypt to ancient Greece, Rome, and China,
puppets have been around thousands of years. Puppets are figures
controlled by human beings. There are many types of puppets. On
string puppets (marionettes), strings are attached to the puppet and
are pulled from above to make the puppet move. Rod puppets have
sticks attached, and when the sticks move the puppet moves. Shadow
puppets are shadows created with material or hands in front of a
bright light projected onto a wall or screen. Hand puppets are
puppets that fit on the hand, and when the hand moves the puppet
moves. Hand and rod puppets use hands and sticks to move the puppet.
Robotic puppets use internal motors to have the puppet move.
